A GOOD HOME - Prologue

Image
12 years old Toin crashed on the worned out velvet upholstery couch. He was tired. And the time is already 11 pm. Wayyy past his bedtime.  He did not stay up just for nothing though. Tonight was a busy night for him. He had been working hard since after dinner. Now, he can stop and marvel at the fruit of his labor. "Ughhh! Ughhh!" Deon Notris, Toin's dad, had regained consciousness from his drug induced sleep. He was surprised to see his wife Liana, and his second son Moe tied up on the chairs. Even more surprised to see Toin just sat there on the couch, watching. Toin was disappointed. He hoped to do this without any fuss. He hoped he could do it without waking his family. Unfortunately, his dad woke up ahead of schedule. He wasn't supposed to wake up at all. Still, at least he did not wake up before Toin tied him up. Toin walked towards Deon. He pulled another chair, and sat directly in front of him. They sat so close together that their knees were touching. "

FAMILIAR FACES - Part 1

" Good Tuesday morning Glasgow. It's 4 am currently. We'll see the sun in about an hour. Not that we could see it, unless you're in Graveyard Hill. So for any ghosts out there watching, direct your gaze on the horizon at 5.17 am. As for you humans…" Towin Murray turned off the radio alarm on his bedside table. He got out of his bed. He reached for his towel. He took a hot shower. He brushed his teeth. Then dried and wrapped his body with a towel.  Towin went to the drawers in front of his bed. He opened the drawer marked 'Tuesday'. He took out his gym outfit for the day, a pair of shorts and a sleeveless shirt. Oh, and also a pair of cartoon socks. Today it's Invader Zim it seems like.  He took his running shoes from the shoe rack beside the front door. He double knotted his shoelaces. The last things he got before walking out was his 75 pounds rucksack, and his Hydro flask. He slipped the Hydroflask to the side pocket of his weighted rucksack, and wa

Heaven & Hell; And Everything in Between

God woke up. He noticed the left side of his bed was undisturbed. Cold. Untouched. His lover must not have come to bed last night. God get out from his fluffy golden cloud bed. He reached for his white robe, put it on, then walked out of his bedroom. God stood on the large verandah. Looking at the majestic view of Heaven. The beauty of the Garden of Eden. The shimmering lights reflected from the various streams of river. Each carrying its own flavour. It was the most perfect view.  God stepped back inside. Looking for someone. Someone that should be in bed with him last night.  God stopped in front of a closed door of a room. It was the study. Where the idea of Heaven was conceived. Without the ideas coming from this room, Heaven would probably just be a simple meadow. Still beautiful in its simplicity, but not as. God thought to knock. But decided not to. He did not want to disturb the occupant. God pushed the door, careful not to make too much noise. Slowly, stealthily, God made hi

AN EVENING IN HELL - Prologue

Image
THE ORIENTATION “Umm hello? Toin…is it?” I was very disoriented. Like having the curtains ripped open. And the morning sun attacked your eyes.  Fortunately, there was a beautiful woman standing in front of me. She held out her hands. A gesture perhaps, to help me to get up. “Yes, that’s me. Umm…who are you?” “Oh, so sorry. My name is Darciania. I’m one of Miss Morningstar’s assistants. I am here…” That piece of information almost flew past me. My brain caught that. And I had to ask again to clarify. Wondering if I heard wrong. Hoping actually, that I had heard wrong. “W-w-wait. Can you repeat that again? You are whose assistant now?” She looked at me weird. As if I’m the one who’s saying something weird.  “Miss Morningstar? Why?” I heard that correctly, unfortunately. “Morningstar. As in…” “As in Lucifer Morningstar. The once leader of the angels. Or as you humans know her, the Devil.” “Oh, yeah. I knew that. And I’m guessing we’re in Hell?” “Naturally. Where else would

CURSED CONTENT - Prologue

The chat window was frantically moving up. Donations after donations popped up on the screen, just so that viewers could ask out of concern. The robotic voice of the text-to-speech was constantly reading out one dono after the other. They are all genuinely worried. Why? Because on the screen, Stephanie Dayer was sharpening a knife. While smiling to the camera. Stephanie Dayer was a genuine bona fide entertainer slash content creator. A rare breed these days. She is a true diamond among the trashy contents online. The videos on her channel “The Dayer Zone” are not only entertaining, but also cover a multitude of topics. From cars to cooking to tech, she did not just do it to get her channel subscribed by viewers of different tastes, but she was truly interested in it.  And it shows. And people loved watching her videos because of it. Unfortunately, the internet is a crazy place. With crazy people. Stephanie stopped sharpening the knife. She took out a piece of paper. Use the knife and
